People never learn. My coworkers are making the same resolutions for next year that they made last year for this one. If you're not going to start the change now, you won't ever.
I went to the opening night for the Warlock's Hairy Heart. I was very impressed with my lovely cousin, the splendid Audrey Roth. Who knew she had it in her to transition from radio to stage? |

It's that time of year again. The Minister ordered me to organize the annual holiday party. I won't be doing it entirely by myself. Still, it involves a lot of research and planning on my part.
So, as part of my researching involves getting the opinions of you lot. Ministry members, what would you like to see at the holiday party? What do you not want to see? Do you want an open bar? Do you want games? How about door prizes? Any type of food you want? Any businesses you would prefer to cater? This is your chance to be heard. Take advantage of it. |

My dictoquill committed suicide today. Right in the middle of an important meeting it sputtered and fell over on the parchment. I was not amused. I had to write by hand for the remaining two hours of the meeting. My shorthand was quite appalling. The Minister couldn't read my notes. It made him cranky. I had to rewrite everything. Then I was cranky.
That quill went out with the rubbish, but I still don't feel any better. |

I bought a pumpkin with every intention to carve it for a decoration. Two hours later I had pumpkin risotto on the table.
I still have another day to carve a pumpkin. I'd much rather eat a pumpkin than look at it, though. |

There are three boxes full of wines waiting to be tasted, sitting in my flat. Oh Merlin, whatever shall I do?
Perhaps contacting the Wizarding Culinary Association about the job offer wasn't a bad idea. One thing is for certain: the wine will make Ministry work tolerable. |

- Administrative Assistant at St. Mungo's Ward for Magical Bugs and Diseases

Lately nasty things have been happening in the Ministry lifts. Someone vomited. On the new suede pumps my mum gave me. I will not feel clean until I scour myself in the shower.
Please, stay home if you're sick. It's not polite to vomit on others, nor is it sanitary. |

Tomorrow is Monday. That only means it is the beginning of another work week. This weekend was dull compared to last's. This time last week I was still in Monaco with my fabulous cousin. While lounging about with black coffee and a good book is pleasurable, it just can't compete with the thrill of gambling or catching a production at the Fort Antoine Theater. |

My wonderful cousin and I are going to Monaco this weekend to find some excitement. It's a welcome reprieve. I've been knee deep in parchment all week. Really I have. I had to put in a maintenance request to have the cabinets in my office checked. They belch out everything in the drawers. It's utterly absurd. I doubt the problem will be solved tomorrow by the time I leave. I'm losing valuable productive time searching through the stacks of files on the floor in my office. I barely have a path clear to my desk.
The thought of seeing those disorganized files tomorrow makes my stomach churn. Unfortunately when I return from Monaco the first I'll have to do is sort through them and reorganize them into my cabinets, which better be fixed by Monday. |

The mood to cook struck me today. It may be time to host a dinner party, though I'm not sure what I'd prepare. I would like to tackle turducken, but I'm not sure how to justify layering that many species and that much stuffing together in one monstrous meal. |

Today I helped mum and dad sort through storage in their house. I rescued my bassoon, which mum threatened to donate. She must have forgotten how expensive it was because I paid her back every sickle of the 1700 some galleons. I attempted to play "Last Tango in Bayreuth" and discovered I'm a bit rusty. Time to practice.
(Audrey, I will be playing it. You can't stop me. I already made a new reed for it. I also saved a triangle from storage that I thought you might want to play with. Oh yes, mum enjoyed your recent work on Timeturner Tales. She sends her love.) |
